Motivating Yourself and Your Children for Achievement

 The Parent Coalition was pleased to present Dr. Rimm to an overwhelming response on September 18, 2008.  Dr. Rimm, a regular contributor on NBC's Today show and a NY Times best selling author, shared advice and experience with parents and caregivers.  She discussed many issues including appropriate ways to talk to and around children, freedom and choices given to children, modeling respect and encouraging children of both genders to achievement.  Please see the attached notes below for more information.

Special Event: Star Power Rally

On May 21, about 20 parents and 25 children boarded a bus to go to Lansing.  We joined a larger group of about 500 people in the state capital to rally for the importance of the youngest citizens of our state.  Parents and children were also able to meet with representatives from the Senate and House of Representatives from their own districts to advocate for our children.
